A Secret No Longer

Since starting here in early 2010 I’ve been a broken record about Edelman being the best place to work. Before I was even hired by Edelman I wrote a post about the company’s corporate culture on my personal blog and continued to post on Edelman.ca [bragging] about what I thought was the best kept secret.

The secret ingredient you ask? A focus on people.

Every year the Toronto leadership team presents their employee engagement plan, and although this may sound like a boring scene from The Office, it’s quite the opposite. I believe that this plan is the foundation for our success.  It’s also the accessible and down to earth nature of the leadership team as well as a commitment to their employees that drives this success.

Commitment to employees was further expressed through the recent renovations in Toronto and at the Montreal office, raising the bar in terms of fine design. I’ve had family and friends visit the office and comment on how cool the Toronto space is and look with envy at the patio we get to enjoy during our weekly happy hour called ‘Foursies’. (My friends all know what and when ‘Foursies’ is, and frequently ask to be invited.) Finally, I can comfortably listen to music while working, which according to 86 per cent of my colleagues is very important and a definite perk.

With that said, the fact that this is a great place to work is no longer a secret. The cat is out of the bag with Edelman Canada’s recent recognition as ‘One of the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ in Canada’. I couldn’t agree more.

Trust me, you want to work here.
