Happens every year at every agency: to christmas/holiday card or not to christmas/holiday card.
This year in Vancouver, we said yes to the card, but with a twist. No off the shelf card would do. No, we would create something from scratch that each and everyone of us could have a hand in putting together. The result is this behind-the-scenes look at how the card was put together: the design from our own Leigh Peterson, a Linocut from our own Nathan Gowsell, creative, video and production work from Kevin Broome, Bill Hayley and Lawrence Wang, and card-making from the rest of us. Enjoy the show.

In early 2011, the Vancouver Airport Authority came to us with a request for a standard community relations program. We counseled the client to think different; we needed to create a reason for consumers and stakeholders to engage with YVR and once they did, we could deliver YVR’s core message that it plays an important role in the region and the economy. The timing for this work was in recognition of YVR’s 80th anniversary.
The result of our proposal and planning process was Live@YVR: a program what would engage the public in selecting aperson who would become an in-house YVR correspondent or storyteller, living eating, sleeping and reporting from YVR for 80 days and 80 nights. That’s right: this person would not be able to leave Sea Island for almost three months (Think Tom Hanks in The Terminal).

Recently, I had the opportunity to work on a program that combined a few of my favourite things: chocolate, bikes and doing some good!
For the third year in a row, Cadbury Canada opened its doors to the Cadbury Bicycle Factory, which encourages Canadians to help build bikes for children living in rural Ghana. In Canada, we often take our bikes for granted. To us, they represent warmer weather, exercise and fun. But for these children, a bike means so much more, including access to education and a chance for a brighter future.

Edelman Canada was dealt a full house at this year’s Canadian Public Relations Society ACE (Achieving Communications Excellence) Awards, which are judged by industry peers and recognize creativity and excellence in public relations. Our team took home a number of awards, including the trophy captured by Red Bull Crashed Ice for Most Creative PR Campaign of the Year – a first for Edelman Canada!

Notre nouvelle adresse made in plateau : 4446 Boulevard St-Laurent, bureau 501 , même numéro de téléphone général.
Voici quelques photos de l’espace – très moderne-monochrome-minimaliste – d’autres suivront sous peu!

It took eight months, over a hundred boxes, a team of professional movers, a super dedicated moving committee, and one day of total office shutdown (which, as you know, for PR is – gasp – not easy), but the Edelman Montreal office has officially moved from its Golden Square Mile location to the Plateau area.
Starting today, you will be able to find us at 4446 Boulevard St-Laurent, office 501. The main phone line still remains the same.
Here’s a sneak peek, but we promise more pictures and details as soon as the place is up and running!

It’s mid-April, and I’m in my final week of a six-month Edelman Inside experience. It started as a two-month project, working 2-3 days a week out of my client’s office, helping to execute the internal communications strategy and plan that our account team had spent months putting together for the client. It grew into a six-month engagement. We had recommended they hire someone; not only to work through the plan and to execute on the recommendations we’d made, but also to operate in a full-time capacity as an internal communications manager. We knew that they needed someone to provide strategic communications counsel to senior executives and work with the marketing and human resources teams to ensure the successful implementation of a variety of new programs.
