Ava Shafman

Ava is a problem-solver and strategic thinker with more than 18 years’ experience in communications and marketing. She’s a skilled and enthusiastic marketer with expertise across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. 
 
She has a breadth of experience in developing and executing award-winning integrated marketing campaigns and strategic communications for many global brands, including Samsung, Becel, Dove and their Campaign for Real Beauty, Hellmann’s, Nissan, Intact Financial Corporation, Whirlpool Home Appliances, Coca-Cola and the Lung Health Foundation, to name a few. Getting to the root of a business challenge and finding the right solution is what she likes best.   

In addition to leading one of the region's largest clients, Ava also leads Operations for the Canadian business, including oversight of resource management, external marketing, business development, administration, internal communications and a number of additional special projects, ensuring the smooth functioning of the firm. In this role, she's honed her skills in change management, global integration and team management.

Ava is proud to be a member of the Edelman global Livewell Link team, supporting colleagues working through mental health challenges. She is certified in Mental Health First Aid. 

Ava is a graduate of Queen’s University at Kingston, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Language and Linguistics, along with certificate in International Studies. She honed her communications skills through Humber College’s Public Relations Graduate Certificate program. Ava is certified bilingual (English & French).
