Matt Gordon is the Interim General Manager of Edelman Vancouver and Managing Director of EGA, Western Canada, Global Advisory Canada. He has over 24 years of expertise in government relations, strategic issues management, and communications, providing premiers, ministers, deputy ministers, and private sector corporate leaders with executive counsel and advice.
Previously, Matt served as an Assistant Deputy Minister with the Government of British Columbia under three administrations and two political parties. His career highlights include executive leadership on major projects such as the Site C final investment decision, BC’s Climate Leadership Plan, and the Government’s response to the Chilcotin supreme court decision on First Nations title. He also managed the 2014 tailing pond failure at Mt. Polley mine.
Matt’s extensive experience includes serving as Communications Director for various ministries, including Energy and Mines and Environment, and as Assistant Deputy Minister of Corporate Priorities and Communications Operations, overseeing hundreds of staff and managing a multi-million dollar budget.
